Mark Caplan is a singer/songwriter whose uplifting original music has inspired countless souls who yearn for a touch from God. Since 2020 he has been serving in music ministry with Go Global.  

Mark was born in Chicago, IL and was raised in Judaism. His family held membership at a Reform synagogue, where Mark celebrated his Bar Mitzvah and Confirmation. He later attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where, as a freshman, he stated his belief in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. During his sophomore year one of his fraternity brothers presented Mark with writings from the ancient Jewish prophets, such as Moses, King David, Isaiah, and others, which pointed to the coming of the promised Messiah. After a time of searching and study, he came to embrace faith in Jesus, the Son of God, the promised One, Who is the fulfillment of those prophetic passages.  

Mark has served with Go Global Ministries on several missionary trips to Cuba. His contributions on those trips included leadership training, home evangelism, children's ministry, and a heavy emphasis on praise and worship. He will be expanding his ministry travels in 2025 with a mission to the Philippines.   

After studying piano and clarinet as a child, Mark later turned his focus towards singing and playing acoustic guitar. As time went on he began to concentrate on songwriting as an expression of his faith. His original compositions are featured on the albums “Song in the Night,” “More Than a Tale,” and "Higher Call," presenting a blend of high-energy rock and soothing ballads. These songs provide the listener with messages that strengthen, heal, comfort and encourage.   

Since 2002 audiences have seen Mark playing in concerts and coffee houses in and around New Jersey with his contemporary Christian rock band, Oracle (OracleBand.com). The band is comprised of seasoned musicians who share the goal of communicating the good news of Jesus through Biblical songs of faith. More recently his original music videos have been widely viewed in the Philippines, Cambodia, and many other countries outside of the U.S. Mark is also is a minister of music at his home church in Montclair, NJ, leading in praise and worship to the Lord, and has been a guest worship musician at many other churches.   

Mark resides in Bloomfield, NJ with his wife Theresa. He is the father of four daughters and a son, and he and Theresa share twelve grandchildren.
